I am sitting on a window sill at our lodge in Moab. I have a view of Frankie D's old cowboy looking BBQ joint and red rock cliffs, hubby and Mogwai are on the bed next near me playing and I have not been this happy in months.
There is a different world out here, I knew it, that is why I wanted to come here so bad.
We woke up later this morning than planned so we got on the road sometime before ten. We stopped at Price to get a snack and change and feed Mogwai. The rain followed us from SLC, and even though I thought it would, it did not stop even when we got close to Moab around 2:30 PM. Because of this, we decided to go to Dead Horse point NP and leave Arches for tomorrow when it's supposed to be sunny. Dead Horse Point is awesome, but it is all about the view and not hiking, so about 15 minutes into the drive there when we stopped at the viewpoint and saw we couldn't see anything, we decided to just go to check in to our room and try to wake up early tomorrow so we can do more stuff.
We got the bestest room ever! Unfortunately we need to enjoy it this little we can, because I asked later on the reception are all rooms like that, but it turns out they upgraded us to Executive Suite, just like that. We could never afford this otherwise. It has a nice bathroom with a small kitchen and a living room. Then it has two separate bedrooms, Every room including the living room has their own TV and air conditioning, and sweetest part is that we have a fawesome balcony with a cute sitting set. I wish we could stay at least one more day, but hubby has to go to work on Monday.
We had dinner at our favorite restaurant, "Pasta Jay's". It's Italian, and usually I don't care for Italian American restaurants, I have eaten to much in Italian Italian restaurants :D, but yeah, this one is very cool. Hubby had his creamy pesto gnocchi, and I had Chicken Parmesan version, with creamy pesto sauce and fettuccine. I also got a blackberry smoothie afterwords, because I am in MOAAAAAAAAAAB. No diet this weekend. And just because of that, I have my Tiramisu, that I couldn't fit after dinner, waiting for me in my fridge, in my Executive Suite, in my favorite place on earth after Croatia. All is good in the world today.
I can't wait till tomorrow, but I don't want today to end. It's a good feeling.
I got Mogwai a shirt and a onsie with Moab stuff on it, and Chris and I got each other friendship bracelets, mine stands for peace, and his is one of those that you make a wish when you put it on, when it falls of on its own, your wish will come true. I hope he wished for something!
Now if just this stupid wireless worked so I could log into Restaurant City and get my free ingredients! LOL
